There is a huge number of men in America searching for baldness cures. Somewhere around half of all men will suffer from thinning hair and so there must be hundreds of millions of men who would buy a cure for baldness if there was one that was demonstrated to work. With numbers this big there are dozens of baldness cures on the Internet. But do these curesfor baldness work?

Balding cures are not cheap and there are hundreds of millions of dollars or more at stake. With money like that to be made there will always be many products available to buy however that doesn’t mean that these baldness cures work or even that they are safe for you to use.

The Internet is unregulated. Anyone can design a website and sell a hair loss treatment without any requirement that it be demonstrated to work or that it be demonstrated to be safe to use. On the internet it’s a serious case of buyer beware.

It’s very easy to get ripped off buying baldness cures on the Internet. Not only is there a fair chance they will not reverse your hair loss there is also a likelihood that they may be harmful to your health and to your wallet. Does this mean that you should forget about regrowing your hair?

No you need not forget about it at all. We have an organization in the US called the FDA whose task it is to examine products like these and, if it is satisfied that it is appropriate, to approve them for use. The FDA has approved 2 products as men’s baldness cures for cases of thinning hair in men including cases of male pattern baldness which causes over 90 percent of cases of male balding.

If the FDA is satisfied that these 2 products work to reverse hair loss than it is also fair to us to assume that they work as hair loss treatments. There must have been, and there have been, scientific studies demonstrating clearly that these products work to reverse hair loss. Whilst that is the case they do not work in every single case of hair loss.

These 2 baldness cures are finasteride, marketed as Propecia, and minoxidil. Only minoxidil is approved to use as a baldness cure for women because finasteride has been shown to have serious side effects when used by women. Finasteride can also have some side effects when used as a hair loss treatment by men including loss of libido.

Minoxidil is approved as a hair loss treatments for men and women and is the only product so approved. The current wisdom is that it works because it improves the flow of blood to hair follicles which increases the flow of nutrients so that the hair follicle can absorb more nutrition. In cases of male pattern baldness the actual hair thinning is caused by a male hormone which restricts the flow of nutrients to the hair follicle so this would seem to make sense.

Whilst minoxidil has been shown to work as a baldness cure on its own one company has taken this one step further and released a product that combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients. It would also make sense that more blood flow to the hair follicle that allows the follicle to absorb more nutrients would work better if all those nutrients were available in the blood.

This approach seems more effective than selling minoxidil for use on its own.

Remember, whilst there may be dozens or hundreds of baldness cures on the Internet, none of them are approved by the FDA except for finasteride and minoxidil. Minoxidil alone is approved for both men and women.

On my website you can find out which company markets minoxidil combined with a range of essential hair nutrients in a total hair loss treatment to maximize the chances of successful regrowth of your hair.
