More causes of hair loss

Friday, February 8th, 2008

General health, or lack of it is another long standing theory that ranks as one of the causes of hair loss. If you are not exercising or eating properly then you are denying your body the proteins that it needs to keep your hair follicles healthy.

A most recent theory to add to the existing ones about the causes of hair loss surrounds the male hormones called dihydrotestosterone or DHT which obviously relates to male hair loss.

DHT is a secretion produced by testosterone, which is produced by the enzyme 5-apha reuctase. The thought behind the theory is that if you can balance the DHT’s with medication, then you will in turn rejuvenate your damaged hair follicles and your hair will begin to grow again.

In Conclusion

On average around half the men in the United States will suffer or are suffering from baldness, so you are not alone in the fight against male hair loss.

And also remember that there are many products out there on the market that claim they know the causes of hair loss, and that their product will work for you.

But if you don’t know the cause of your hair loss then how will you know which product is right for you, investigate the causes of hair loss that may be applicable to your case before purchasing any hair loss products.

The Cause of Hair Loss Both Female hair loss and Male Hair Loss

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

The cause of hair loss is a problem that taxes both men and women and is becoming more and more common.

It seems that no one can really prove what the main causes of hair loss are be it female hair loss or the more common male hair loss.

However, as ever there are plenty of theories. One thing is known for sure, and that is, baldness is a natural act.

It’s not a disease or a birth defect, and you must also realize that the re-growth of lost hair is not natural and can end up being very expensive.

However try not to get depressed just because you’re bald. Nowadays bald men are in fashion, men with full heads of hair are shaving it all off. Male hair loss is not such a big deal if you choose to go with the flow.

If you take a look around you magazines and billboards are featuring male models with shaved heads. Plus, many women are attracted to men with a smooth head, the cause of hair loss maybe is not such a big deal.

Cause Of Hair Loss - Some Theories

One theory for the cause of hair loss is that your androgens (a male sex hormone) that circulates in your blood, causes hair follicles to shrink, and eventually the follicles become so small that new hair cannot grow.

Secondly, stress can be responsible for male hair loss and female hair loss alike.

Scientific studies show that men who were under stress suffered more than the normal amount of hair loss well into 3 months after the stressful period. So in theory a solution to avoid a common cause of hair loss is to relax and relieve the stress right now to avoid hair loss later on.

DHT Blockers For Hair Loss Caused by DHT?

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Hair loss caused by DHT is a condition which is inherited and its severity is determined by the man’s sensitivity to DHT.

DHair Loss caused by DHT?HT is manufacture in the body as a by product of a reaction between 5-alpha-reductase enzymes and testosterone.

The more DHT in a man’s body, the more likelihood there is of experiencing hair loss.

The way DHT causes male pattern baldness is by shortening the growth cycle of hair and making the follicles smaller and smaller.

This causes the production of hair that is much finer than normal.

DHT blockers cure hair loss caused by DHT by doing what their name implies, preventing the chemical reaction between 5-alpha-reductase enzymes and testosterone from taking place, this gives rise to a huge reduction of DHT in the body and as a result a reduction in the hair loss.
