Hair Loss Prevention Techniques
Wednesday, December 12th, 2007Hair loss prevention often comes to mind when you are taking a shower or brushing your hair and you notice that once again, your hair is falling in what seems too great a quantity!
It is typical then for most people to ask themselves “how on earth can I prevent more hair falling out?” Their thoughts then typically turn to hair loss prevention products they have seen advertised.
However, before you start experimenting with the many hair loss prevention products available, you need to know what the underlying causes of hair loss are.
There are two main causes of hair loss; the first is genetics, also known as androgenetic and male pattern baldness.
The lifespan of a single hair is around five years and a human will lose around 100 hairs a day. Hair loss occurs when the body stops replenishing the lost hairs, so in fact this is normal to a certain point. However, genetic baldness will cause the body to completely fail to replenish the dead hair. Hair loss prevention remedies seem to be futile at this point.
Curiously, the gene for male baldness is present in all men but is only active in about 50 percent. This active gene suffocates the hair follicles so that when the old hair falls out, the new will not grow in its place. Thus causing the distressing hair loss symptons leading to baldness.
The next largest cause of male baldness is stress in its many forms. There are also other causes of hair loss which are more
susceptible to the use of hair loss prevention products, for example, malnutrition, consuming foods that don’t have the right amount of vitamins and minerals.
In addition, coffee and other caffeinated drinks have been linked as cause of hair loss.

You first action to take as a hair loss prevention technique is to simply change your brand of shampoo. Make sure it is one that is gentle your regular shampoo may simply be damaging your hair and you are only just seeing the effects.
Scalp massages with rosemary oil have been known to stimulate the hair follicles and can act as a suitable hair loss remedy. The only drawback is you have to give yourself a massage at least once a week to be effective.
If you believe stress is causing your hair loss, then try pinpointing the cause and working on a remedy or investigate some suitable relaxation techniques as a hair loss prevention method.
Alter your diet to ensure that you are getting the right amount of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Make sure to include dried beans, fish, eggs and grains in your daily diet.
Finally if a particular hair loss prevention method doesn’t work, take some comfort from the fact that in some societies a bald head is a sign of wealth and in others it’s a sign of being virile and manly.
Also, do not forget that around 50 percent of the men around the world will be suffering from one form of baldness or another. Therefore, you are not alone in seeking a hair loss prevention product, you are in good company.
