Preventing Hair Loss - less quirky but still unproven

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Your hair needs proteins, vitamins and minerals and so plenty of fruits, vegetables and milk should be in your diet.  Foods that are green, leafy vegetables, fresh fruit salads, coconut, lean meat, poultry, fish, eggs, nuts, yogurt, almonds and cottage cheese will all add strength to your growing hair and will add a natural shine.

Common advice is that you should aim to drink around eight glasses of water, herbal teas and unsweetened fruit juice, but personally I find this impossible.

However, it should be easier to drink less regular tea and coffee by substituting say water or herbal teas.  This is because tea and coffee increase the loss of water from your body and important nutrients are washed away with it. Alcoholic beverages can also be a major factor that can get in the way of preventing hair loss.

Also make sure you get plenty of exercise because exercise will promote circulation and other essential requirements for healthy hair.
